Scenario / Explorations ALTER

One take. Twelve versions. One Claude skill.

ALTER

Change anything in a video. Keep the performance.

One eight-second take, made with Scenario to look like a friend's phone video, then changed eleven ways by a free Claude skill through the Scenario MCP. Every version lines up with the take frame for frame, so you can switch while it plays.

The take and its versions

The original take: a man in an olive hoodie walks along a seaside promenade at golden hour, holding a coffee cup.

Versions

Left and Right arrows switch versions on the same frame. Space plays or pauses. C compares the version with the original.

Launch film

The launch film.

ALTER, the launch film. 54 seconds, sound on.

How it works

Three modes.

Every change starts from what has to stay. Pick the mode by what must stay exactly as it is.

Swap

Keep everything. Change one thing.

A product in a hand, a prop, a sign or an outfit.
The person, the light and the camera stay as they are.

Motion transfer

Keep the performance and the camera. Change who or where.

A new lead or a new place for the same take.
The timing, the moves and the framing carry over.

Restyle

Keep the motion and the framing. Change the whole look.

Anime, a 3D feature or claymation over the same take.
Every move stays where it was.

From take to keepers

  1. 1

    Probe

Read the clip first: length, frame rate, size and sound. Clips over 30 seconds are split into parts.

  2. 2

    Pick a preset

Start from one of 36 presets for the three modes, or describe the change in plain words.

  3. 3

    References

Add pictures of the product, the outfit, the person or the place.

  4. 4

    Target frame

One still of the change, photographed into this exact frame, guides the edit.

  5. 5

    Run a 480p draft

See the change at low resolution before paying for the full render.

  6. 6

    Check

The draft is measured against the source: length, change, structure, motion, frozen frames.

  7. 7

    Finalise the keepers

Only the drafts that pass go to full resolution.

  8. 8

    Put the sound back

The source sound goes back on, so lips and steps stay in sync. A new place gets its own ambience.

The realism pass

Printed, not pasted.

Swap a product using only a flat product shot and the model lays it on top of the take: the old shape survives and the print floats. Photograph the new can into one frame of the shot first, give the model that frame, and every frame comes back with a real can in his hand. Same take, same prompt, two references.

The original take at two moments: a sip from the paper cup, then the cup held low
1 The take: a paper cup, at the sip and while he walks
The swap made from a flat product sheet: a cup-shaped object with the print at his lips, then a short cup-sized can
2 A flat product shot as the reference: the cup's shape survives under the print
The target frame: the slim can photographed into the toast frame of the take, his fingers around it, the sun down the metal
3 The target frame: one frame of the take with the can photographed in
The swap made with the target frame: a slim can at his lips, then held while he walks
4 With the target frame: a slim can in every frame

Quality check

Checked before you see it.

Every draft is measured against the take before anyone sees it, and every keeper again after it is finalised. The numbers for each version sit in the panel next to the player. Then a person looks at the crops.

The check for the anime version: eight moments of the take, each with the anime frame under it and its structure score
The anime version against the take, eight moments, each scored.
Eight 100 percent crops from the can swap, picked where the picture changed most: the can in his hand, his face, his fingers
The 100% crops it picks for the can swap: where the picture changed most.

The checker measures

Length
The same number of frames as the source.
How much changed
The share of the frame that differs from the take.
Structure kept
How much of the layout and the edges survives.
Motion match
Whether things move the way they moved in the take.
Jumps
A pose that resets or morphs between two frames.
Tail drift
The last frames wandering off the take, so they can be trimmed on every version alike.
Frozen frames
Stalls and repeated frames.

Only eyes catch

Brand marks
A real logo the model was never asked for.
Hands
Fingers, grip and what the hand is holding.
Text
Signs and labels that turn into nonsense.

The skill
