The Babel Tavern

Every quest, in your language.

Welcome, traveler

Six characters, eight languages, every voice and mouth made with Scenario. Find the three clues that open the old chest.

Living tavern: Seedance 2.5, from the painted set split into layers by Seedream 5.0 Pro Layerize.

Recorded, not live. Every clip, voice and song on this page was generated in advance with Scenario models; the voices are synthetic, made for invented characters. The page replays the recorded clips and the timings measured when they were made.

The tavern

Tap a character. They answer in English.

Each voice was made from its character's portrait and follows it into every language; the jokes are rewritten, not translated.

The painted tavern: Brunna behind the bar, Grizzlewick at his stall, Faelan by the hearth, Dame Wenna by a pillar, Nib on his perch and Old Hasp on the floor.

The room: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, painted with the six portraits as references.

    Same dwarf, six Spanishes

One English take of Brunna, translated with its voice and lips kept, into six regional Spanishes. Listen for vosotros in Spain and ustedes everywhere else.

    Literal or localized

Grizzlewick's joke only works in English because of one word. A literal translation keeps the words and loses the laugh; the localized line rebuilds the pun in each language.

“Enchanted daggers, free of charge! Well, the dagger is free. The charge is forty gold.”

    The bard's ballad

Faelan's verse, adapted with rhymes for each language and sung. Its last line is the key that sings.

      How it was made

      How a line travels

Grizzlewick's joke, from an English script to a French goblin telling a French pun. The replay runs the seven steps at the speed they were measured, ten times faster.

Replay only: no model is called. The seconds and CU are the ones recorded when this line was made.

        Made with Scenario

Claude Opus 5.5 built the tavern through Scenario MCP in two sessions: a pilot of the hardest cases, then the full cast. The table lists the full-cast session by model, then the pilot and the total for both: jobs, Scenario credits (CU) and the median time per job, as measured.

        Both sessions, by model

From the job ledger: every finished job of the pilot and the full cast, including the models compared and the review versions.

        Use the agent skill

        1. Unzip it into your agent's skills folder so that scenario-multilingual-cast/SKILL.md sits inside: ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code, ~/.codex/skills/ for Codex.
        2. Connect Scenario MCP to the same agent.
        3. Start with this prompt:

        Prompt

Use the scenario-multilingual-cast skill: make three characters for my own setting who each greet visitors in English, French and Japanese, keeping one voice per character. Ask me for the setting and the lines first, and show me the portraits before making any voice.
