Scenario Image to Mask

Use it ↗

Convert image alpha or luminance into a grayscale mask. Preserve soft transitions, apply a threshold from 0 to 255, or invert the result for your compositing workflow.

Turn an image into a grayscale mask using its alpha channel or luminance. Auto selects non-trivial alpha when present, otherwise luminance. Leave threshold unset for continuous tones, or choose 0 to 255 for a binary mask. Invert swaps light and dark regions. Useful for transparent decals, soft edges, graphic mattes and title masks. This converts existing channels rather than detecting subjects. Check the receiving tool's mask convention: grayscale white/black is not the same as transparent/opaque alpha.
